Kirsty & Ross' Wedding Sneak Peek
Kirsty and Ross chose the charming venue of Longniddry Inn in East Lothian for their wedding, a local establishment known for it's really good food and warm welcome. We were able to get to know Donna, the Event Manager.
Kirsty got ready with her mother and father at their home, with her hair and make-up being done by Karen Mason.
Holly, Kirsty's sister, did her nails. Kirsty was both emotional and excited to get into her Wed2Be dress, and was ready to go, with much time to spare, before being driven to Longniddry.
The fresh flower bridal and bridesmaid's bouquets and groom and groomsmen's button-hole flowers were created by Catkins Floral Design, and delivered to the Longniddry Inn, ready for collection.
When Ross arrived, he let me photograph their wedding rings, with Kirsty's being a set of 3 interlocking rings and Ross' being a design from the Final Fantasy computer game.
Guests started to arrive and were delighted by the chance to sit outside before the ceremony began, due to the Summer weather that had arrived that very morning.
The ceremony was officiated by Susan Young, from the Caledonian Humanist Association. Kirsty walked up the aisle to the Main Theme from Final Fantasy, the couple's favourite computer game. Kirsty's mother had hand-made the floral decorations, adding a beautiful touch to the room. The ceremony was personalised to include a hand-fasting and readings. Susan told the guests the story of how Kirsty and Ross had got together after many years of knowing each other, over a mutual appreciation of the Final Fantasy game.
After the ceremony, the drinks reception was held outside and then we started on the family photographs. Once the guests were back in the wedding room, speeches were made by Kirsty's father, Ross and Ross' father, who was his best man.
In the evening we took Kirsty and Ross outside for some portrait photography, returning back to the wedding room for their cake-cutting, the cake being a small top cake and cupcakes for the guests, kindly made by Kirsty's mother and sister (see Baking with Granny). Kirsty and Ross then had their first dance and then the party began in earnest.
We hope everyone enjoyed this very special day for Kirsty and Ross and we would like to wish the couple happiness for the many years ahead.
