Ellie & Jael's Wedding Sneek Peak

We were delighted to be asked to photograph the amazing wedding of this fantastic couple, Ellie and Jael. They had chosen the stunning Cornhill Castle in South Lanarkshire, with it's beautiful grounds and scenery and very helpful staff and managers making the day run perfectly. We had stayed over a the Castle the night before and so had enjoyed a fine meal at the Ghillie restaurant - a taster of what was to come for the guests on the Ellie & Jael's big day.

The couple had selected both bridal prep and groom prep as part of their photography package and both were getting ready on site, making for convience for the whole wedding party in the morning. Ellie and her ladies were in the bridal suite and much dancing happened in between getting ready. Ellie and her 5 bridesmaids were in the expert hands of Jael's sister for hair styling and Lynn from Drop Dead Gorgeous for their make-up.

For the men, they had never worn a kilt before and so all were excited to do so. They event got to partake in a dram of whisky to get the celebrations started.

The ceremony was conducted by Fiona Bryant of Independent Humanist Ceremonies, with elements spoken in Dutch for the benefit of Jael's family. The couple "tied the knot" on a cord woven by Ellie's mother, giving them a very meaningful keepsake of the day. The room had been decorated with candles, petals and a beautiful floral archway by Bell's Florist. After the ceremony Ellie and Jael were welcomed by their guests with a bubble line-up: a fun change on confetti throwing.

After the meal, 5 speeches were given, including one involving audience participation and another which comprised 3 traditional Dutch games being played.

In the evening the DJ played a mixture of pop songs and ceilidh music. The guests enjoyed the music and dancing, followed by a hot buffet with the cake by Kath's Creative Cakes being served. We then left the couple and guests to enjoy the party.

We would like to wish Ellie and Jael a life-time of happiness together.
