Carolyn & Benjamin's wedding at Abercairny Estates
We had our first visit to Abercairny Estates in Perthshire, which is very much a unique wedding venue. Carolyn and Benjamin made use of the on-site cottage for morning preparations, with Benjamin departing in time for Carolyn to get herself ready.
The couple then made use of the converted stables building for their wedding ceremony. Ben had decided to wear the traditional kilt outfit with an added blue cape, and Carolyn wore a medival-style dress with a matching cape. Some other of the guests were also dressed up in similar style and Carolyn's father, who had travelled from Kazakstan, was wearing a traditional Kazakstani wedding outfit. The couple had chosen Margaret Knight, harpist as the sole provider of music for the ceremony. There were also some unique elements, having two sword-bearers with claymores and Benjamin being given a pendant in place of a wedding ring.
After the ceremony and the group and family photos, the Kilted Caricaturist kept the guests entertained for the afternoon, along with a bar service provided by Timorous Beastie Events. The wedding breakfast was served as feast-style in a beautifully decorated room, with course after course of delicious food by Delivino Wild Kitchen being offered to the guests. Margaret Knich was also playing harp music throughout to add to the atmosphere. The speeches then followed, by Carolyn's father, Benjamin and Carolyn's maid of honour Fiona and then followed by more food with many choices of dessert.
In the evening we took Carolyn, Benjamin and their bridesmaids and groomsmen out to the woodlands and gardens of the estate for some formal, fun and romantic photographs. The party then started back in the stables building, making use of multiple rooms and the courtyard where marshmallows could be toasted at a fire pit.
We were very pleased to be a part of this wedding, with this delightful couple at this amazing venue.
