Annette and Alex's Wedding at Bathgate Golf Club

Alex had asked us to photograph his wedding with Annette at Bathgate Golf Club, and this would be done a little differently: the golf club wedding would be an evening-only affair. Gemma from Food Creations, the events and catering team showed us around the three rooms of the club house which Alex and Annette had hired for their wedding ceremony and celebrations. We also planned in advance to take advantage of a nearby park for the formal photographs.

The ceremony started with Alex doing a comedy stunt taken from Monty Python, to announce the event, before Annette arrived. Annette was then piped in by good friend and best man Arthur. Kate Strachan from Humanist Society Scotland then conducted the wedding ceremony, which included Alex and Annette drinking whisky from a quaich; a two-handled Scottish drinking bowl.

After the ceremony we took the bridal party to Kirkton Park for formal photographs and some couple portraits. This allowed Annette and Alex to relax, as we all took a stroll through the very beautiful park between photogenic sites.

Once back at the golf club the wedding breakfast was soon served, being a hot roast and desserts provided by Food Creations, which by all accounts was delicious. Then, before Annette and Alex knew it, the music for the evening had started and the DJ invited the newlyweds to cut their wedding cake and take their first dance together as a married couple.

We would like to thank Alex and Annettte for choosing us to photograph their wedding and wish then well for their many years ahead together.
